I normally do not leave reviews but due to the pain it is to change this and the low quality of the product I feel like I should share with others.. I bought one 10 months ago, and it went out, I exchanged for a new one and it didn't even last 10 miles before it went bad again. Battery is new, all the wiring has been gone through and there is no outside cause to this problem other than a bad quality part....so for anyone who might read this I would recommend spending a little more and buy a better brand and save yourself the hassle and downtime this product can cause

Bought one and it was bad from the jump... and this is no easy swap. Brought it back and got another one which was tested good. 3 weeks later and it's bad. If carquest can't put out a descent product then it should get out of the parts business..

The alternator was packaged nicely and had all the test information that identified it as having passed rigorous testing. I installed the alternator on a 2012 Ford Edge. It was a difficult installation but it was completed and the car ran fine for 15 miles. The "check charging system" light came back on. Whenever the car was cold, the alternator would work properly for about 10 to 15 miles. The battery was fine but there was no power from the alternator whenever the light came on. I double checked everything and finally brought it to the dealership. They said that while they ran there diagnostics, the alternator was working. I brought it back with the light on and they confirmed that there was nothing coming from the alternator. The dealership siad they had an Escape that had had 2 aftermarket alternators put on and they had the same problem. It was solved with a Motorcraft alternator installed. I had to do the same and it is now running fine. I returned the aftermarket for a full refund. Either the aftermarket alternator is not desinged properly for the Ford Edge (SEL 3.5L) or the product is just poor. In either case, the alternator didn't work.
