    Does not come with the wire harness to the trailer plug...... upset that I had to purchase that in addition and had to cut wires Bc they didn't have a plug for it?

    This is a great deal if you're looking for a small brake controller that can get the job done. My only gripe is the delay after letting the pedal off, the trailer does not release the brake right away so the truck kind of lurches a little bit after letting off the brake and attempting to accelerate. You get used to working around that pretty quickly though. I bought this and the adapter cable for my '97 F-150. Took about 5 mins to install is all.

    Bottom Line

    Very good product. Easy to install. Only thing I suggest is that you buy the harness for your vehicle(sold separately) for an easy plug and play install.

    I bought this for a short car hauler and it works great. The picture does not match the actual item. It actually has an override button that lets you brake the trailer in an emergency, like a congestion over a hill. Otherwise you adjust the brake level with 2 buttons. All hardware is included, all you need is a harness to get your vehicle's wires to communicate with this controller. Very simple to install, no need to be a rocket scientist. This controller is also good value since there are newer ones, but braking is braking and this gets your trailer stopped for good. Use the online coupon code to save at least $10.

    Install was somewhat easy but the only place on my 04 GMC Sierra to mount the smart-box without extending the wires < $ is the kick panel which would break off with use of the e-brake so I mounted it on the inside of the kick panel not a great fit but better then the outside The problem is the wires are not long enough on the Manual Controller, Monitor and Smart-box

    Bottom Line recommended
