this will be the 4th ac clutch in 1.75 years, replaced the relay twice, had the pressure of the system checked once, and i even went as far as to pull the relay to make sure the system had no power when the truck was not running. the problem is the coil looses continuity. no magnetic field no ac clutch engagement. the original lasted 265000 miles, the 4 new ones have gone only 4000. We need american made goods again and not this foreign junk. Customers will pay a bit more if they know the quality is better and the product will last. I know not everyone will want this but at this time i would have gave another $100 not to have had to go through all of this.

The Silverado/Tahoe AC is in the most ridiculous place to work on. So you put your trust in the parts and that they will work. Because you don't want to do it again. Tip. The clutch plate comes off with a jack screw. Place the bolt in the clutch plate threads and it will zip right off. Get a puller tool for the clutch plate/bearing pulley! Installing the magnet was a real pain. It would not stay in place as you attempt to get the snap ring back on. An hour plus of struggles. Again, because of location, the part moving, and no room for your hands (unless you removed the trans cooling hoses, the fan shroud, the fan blade, etc.). Once that is done, the belt pulley goes back on with ease. However. It spins freely and quietly...until you put the snap ring back on. Suddenly, it's tightened down and no longer is free spinning. My first thought - I did not have the pulley fully seated. Or it was seated too far down. Then I thought, perhaps the magnet's snap ring was not fully snapped and causing some clearance issues. None of those were the issue. The pulley is not to spec. Its too deep in the neck by just a small amount. The snap ring puts enough pressure on it to prevent it from spinning freely. I even tried using the old snap ring. It would still spin but only by hand. I moved forward with the complete installation. At first crank there is a long squealing sound but soon goes away. Now, I'm not 100% certain if that was the pulley or if the belt tensioner is to blame. The belt tensioner has some previous issues of squeaking when it was wet - and will be replaced now. Bottom line. I am not too sure about this product. I think the next time I will put the GM part on it but I do not look forward to snap rings again. Have a big box of bandaids ready.
Bottom Line not recommended
Complete junk lasted less than 200 miles and the bearing on the clutch failed. This part is a pain to install and now I have to replace it again. Getting a ac delco clutch this time that will last
