First replacement I thought it was a fluke second one, lift gate actually slammed on me. I was left with a huge bump on top of my head and large welts on my arm. Thankfully the kids were not near it. We own a 2013 GMC SLT.

This was super easy to install. It took 1 minute to watch YouTube and less than 5 minutes for the install. It fits perfectly. I like the original better because once the hood raises to a certain point, it would catch it and pull it up the rest of the way. This one hits that point then increases resistance. You have to push it up the rest of the way or it falls back down. Once it is fully up, it stays up as it should. It holds, but not as strong as the original. Whoever left the 1 star review bought the wrong part. If it breaks in the next 5 years, I'll try to remember to update this review.
