When you get to the store they give you the wrong filter. They will give you a normal wix filter that is not the synthetic grade. To be a synthetic grade cross over it needed to be a wix XP filter. This is false advertising!!!!!

This seems to be a well made filter: it is considerably heavier than the less-expensive alternatives which indicates that it has more filtration material.

on filters where you can't really see the 'insides', i've been told that the actual weight of the filter will give you a pretty good idea of the quality of the filter. i've noticed that the more expensive, higher end filters are all heavier, and this one is just as heavy as the 'popular' brands at a lower price. i trust the xg line of fram.

i have a 1995 Cadillac Deville with the 4.9 non north star motor . i was having oil pressure warning lights come on after a oil change i checked oil pressure it was fine changed the oil pressure switch with a oem ac delco switch that didn't solve the warning the only thing i did different when i changed the oil was use a aftermarket oil filter .i usually use ac delco filters on my older caddy but was in a rush to get it done so bought another brand .luckily on the 4.9 you don't have to drain the oil to replace the filter so i bought the oem acdelco filter and the light did not come on after replacing it might not work in every instance but it my case oem was the way to go
