Bought entire exhaust from "Y" pipe, back. Muffler arrived boxed, no damage, quality as described. Good price. Pipes arrived with ends damaged required time/labor to make fit. Would buy muffler again, but not intermediate pipe and tail pipe

LISTING FOR MUFFLER SAYS THAT YOU NEED TO REPLACE ALL PIPES ON OEM WELDED EXHAUST. I FOUND OUT THAT FOR MY TRUCK WHICH WAS ORIGINAL WB 133" THAT WAS NOT TRUE. i DID HAVE TO USE A 2 3/4 TO 2 3/4 ADAPTER FOR THE OUTLET AND THE INLET PIPE SLID RIGHT INTO THE MUFFLER. i DID HOWEVER USE A SAWS ALL TO CUT THE OLD OEM MUFFLER RIGHT AT THE MUFFLER ( 1/2" AWAY FROM IT ). I ALSO CUT 3/4 INCH OFF THE OUTLET OF THE REPLACEMENT MUFFLER. ALL YOU NEED IS THREE 2 3/4 CLAMPS AND 1 ADAPTER. SOUNDS GREAT. A LITTLE LOUDER THEN THE OLD MUFFLER.

Here's what they say about this muffler, (PN.21356) Walker Quiet-Flow Mufflers are designed using OE-style cross-sections for a precise fit, enhanced flow and OE-style sound quality. "OE style" and "precise fit" are great buzzwords to get you to buy. Here's the real deal. 1)Everything in an exaust system flows downstream. 2)You have to saw (cut) out the original muffler. 3)The "Y" pipe has a 2 bolt flange that connects to a pipe section that ends at the muffler. This pipe section is 2 3/4" dia. When you cut out the original muffler that pipe has to fit into the receiving pipe on the new muffler. All ok up to here because the engineers figured out that the receiving pipe on the muffler has to be 2 3/4"ID(able to accept 2 3/4 pipe into it)or maybe they just didn't think about it and got lucky here. 4)This is where the engineers really designed a bad product. The outlet on the muffler was made 2 3/4 even (can neither go over or into the pipe) Since everything flows downstream this outlet should be 2 3/4 OD.(able to go into the tailpipe)5)Since there are no available 2 3/4 ID to 2 3/4 OD couplers (check it out), 6)The outlet pipe on the muffler has to be notched with a sawsall 1/4" wide and almost all the way down the length to about 1/2" shy of muffler.(only one notch)put on a 2 3/4 clamp and tighten it down until it closes the gap up. If you put another clamp on 90 degrees out and tighten it up you won't egg shape. Mig weld the gap from the inside (or outside and grind down). Can't have any leaks.Remove clamps. 7)Install. Insert into tailpipe and clamp. Clamp the inlet side and your done. EASY AS PIE. The second bummer here is that the muffler is advertised as STAINLESS but the inlet and outlet are soft cheap iron pipe and these will be the parts that will rot away, fast.
