From Lansing, MI
About half of the flared connections leaked when I first installed them; this wasn't the first time I've replaced brake lines for sure, but it was my first time using stainless lines. After some googling, I learned that stainless lines are more prone to leak at the flares because they're made from a harder material (stainless) as opposed to copperized steel. You need to tighten the flarenuts very well, to the point that it's kind of scary, and to do that you should use a 14mm flarenut wrench; a regular boxend wrench will probably round the flarenut. Check your work to make sure that they're not leaking after you're done by pumping the brakes. Look for weaping brake fluid around the flare nuts base or around the line coming out of the flare nut. Also! Yes, you CAN install these without removing the gas tank. After removing the left rear tire and plastic splash guard I was able to slide the rear brake line in through the wheel well at an angle. When you run these, you'll want to cover the flared end of the brake line with tape to prevent the flare or the nut from getting damaged or dirty. After working with stainless lines for the first time, I'm not sure that I would buy them again. I don't think that it's because of the brand - I think that stainless lines are just harder to seal.
