The Moog idler arm was purchased (1 of 2 as a GMC Safari takes two) to replace the DriveWorks idler arm which was worn out after only 11 months of service. The Moog part appeared well made, the grease fitting actually threaded in with no problem and were accessible after installation, the bolts lined up, the tapered fit of the actual joint was proper sized and did not require spacers so the cotter key would work, etc. The Moog part is more than twice the cost of the 1 yr warranty DriveWorks part, but to be honest, who EVER wants suspension parts that wear out in less than a year unless you are selling the vehicle soon.

2000 Astro. Good product, value and fit. Concerned about the grease boot in keeping the water and dirt out of the ball joint.

Used on 2000Astro. Item was a good fit and good value. however concerned about the weather rubber boot that protect the ball joints from the weather. The boots are loose fitting and water and road dirt can easily get in the ball joints. Also the grease fitting are in a difficult position.

The hump on the back of the part that bolts to the frame won't allow it to bolt up flush to the frame. The threaded stud that goes into the drag link is too small in diameter thus allowing too much of the stud to protrude through, which lets the castle nut thread too far up and makes the cotter pin hole useless because the nut is well above the hole!

I have owned 5 Chevy Astros since 1995. Four were used as delivery vehicles with 215,00 to 464,00 miles. I no longer own delivery co, I still have and drive 2 Astros. I believe the idler arms must take the brunt of punishment of the steering system as I never had to replace tie rods, ball joints, etc. At every tire change I was told the idlers were bad and couldn't align the front end until I put the best Moog arms from Advance, of course. They were replaced under warranty once. Moog wasn't available at my store. I decided to use your cheapest arms. I will let you know how they hold up. They (r&l) were in different boxes .The drivers side arm had no grease zirk on the top. These appear to be adjustable and seem sturdy for being half the price of the premium Moog arms. I have always installed them myself I think about 8 times. If these hold up , I will put them on my other Astro. Thanks for the good price.
