Works good, but does not have the extra piece of hose around the jacket to protect it from rubbing on the leaf spring. I slit the old one off and put a couple of zip ties around it to hold it on the new cable assembly.

The cable return spring was to large to clear the bracket on the truck rear brake mount. Had to grind small amount off mount in order for spring to clear. The OEM factory cable has a shield around it near the leaf spring to prevent wear on the cable. This was the problem with the original cable, it had worn almost in half from rubbing on the leaf spring. This cable had no shield at all. I modified a fuel line/rubber hose to place around the cable in order to protect it. The price of this cable was less expensive than a factory new one, but with shipping, tax, cost was almost the same. Had I known the modifications I had to make, I would have gone with Factory original for the little price difference.

used this on an 03 f350 with the 6.0 powerstroke, 10.5 sterling rear, single rear wheel. Fit well and not nearly as painful or dramatic as the other reviews here make it sound. my only issue is that the common attachment point for the intermediate cable is crooked. the right cable extends past the left cable about 1". made a spacer to make up the difference in length and all is well. much better than $120 @ the ford dealer

I bought this as one of the pair of parking brake cables that needed to be replaced on my F350 Superduty. Neither cable fit the truck like it was supposed to. The end that fits on the parking brake fit in the hole. That's the easy part. Then pull the spring back and insert the clipped housing end in the bracket. Release the spring and viola!, the spring is too long. It actually keeps the cable pulled too far and tries to bend into a small arc. Both sides did it, so it isn't a fluke. I thought I could remedy this by hooking it all up and maybe then, the tension in the line would straighten it out. On I plodded and routed the lines and got them up to the frame bracket. Another clip end on the housing that is supposed to just drop into the hole. No dice here either. The rubber washer keeps the clip from going in far enough to engage. Once that was corrected and the lines were in place, I slipped the cables into the connection with the cabe to the parking brake pedal. Wait. Read that again. I slipped them in. Not enough tension on them. So now they are installed and the pedal goes to the floor without ever engaging the parking brake. Now I've either got to replace them with factory ones or find a way to adjust the slack out. These things are not worth the money you save.

The connector is junk. Perhaps I got a bad part, but mine had no dimples to hold the cable ends, like the original has. It seems to rely purely on the taper of the soft metal. The other parts seem fine. I pressed my foot pedal down half way and all was fine, I then had to press to get the brakes a little tighter and it popped. I tried putting it back on and crimping it around the cable ends as much as I could and, not surprisingly, it still popped. Thankfully I kept my old rusty one and can use that. I'm giving it an extra star only because all of the other parts seem to be of adequate quality, and I was able to make it work.

I've replaced all my parking brake cables. this front cable has snapped twice. the warranty covers it but who wants to replace a cable every 6 months, find a stronger oem cable and use that, stay away from this cheap made cable!

poor quality metal on the connector piece, broke on first application. Ended up tack welding the part together.

After three attempts to get the right cable from Autozone I finally came to the right place and ordered it from Advance-they had it in the store the next day. This is an extremely easy replacement, but be sure you get the right length cable as varying cab styles and bed lengths can affect which part number you need. Only downside-the connecting bracket which is included (connects this cable to the front cable) is under-sized in my opinion-it snapped on the first test of the new cable. Comes with a one year warranty and it's built to OEM spec, just wish they built it with an oversized connector, it's a lot of truck to hold with such a small connecting bracket. Overall a great, easy, quick fix.
