Installed just the carrier bearing and shims. Common problems I learned through this repair were, My Ford shims broke apart, I used ALL the shims included with the kit, which was not enough, walked back out causing the bearing cap bolt to loosen and carrier housing to shift, causing gear noise. Solution was I had to order a Yukon super shim kit vs. double the cost of Ford shims. From the movement I decided to replace these bearings AGAIN, Advance Auto manager "DON" Hamburg N.Y. is reporting only 90 days warranty I explained my receipt says 5 years. He needs to see my receipt before he will replace......buyer be ware. The bolts are ring gear bolts and not usable for /housing cover. I also purchased RTV vs. the paper gasket w/ the kit. Final Thought...... I needed my truck for work, this repair was learned and done in a weekend so I'm not TOO upset with the kit, my carrier stayed together for 4 months before shims came out. Between Timken & KOYO buy whichever is cheaper, I had problems with outer axle bearings not matching and KOYO came through 100%. YOU WILL NEED THE ORIGINAL SHIMS OR SUPER SHIM KIT, WHICH LOCK TOGETHER AND CAN'T WALK OUT
Bearings were usable but house bolts too big. Just enough shims....could of used few more lil ones
