Delivered promptly. Part appears to be (Carquest) of superior quality. Attempted to install myself and failed. My mechanic commented on part quality. He installed it and it performs well.

I've only had it installed for a few weeks but it seems like a great starter so far. They proactively address common issues found to be at fault for OEM and other starters. There is a rubber/plastic cap that covers 1/4 or so of the end of the starter to help keep out oil and road dirt which makes sense since the oil filter is right next to the started on my 2005 Ford Taurus. They also include a replacement wire which is the last 8 or so inches going up to the starter so you can replace that by cutting your existing one since that wire is common to corrode out.

Starter failed after 6 weeks. It was professionally installed, but I could not get any reimbursement for the labor to install the replacement. I won't be buying any major parts again until the warranty covers replacement labor costs in addition to the part itself.

I haven't done much repair work in years but after getting towed home, I just checked around and purchased online the new starter. Took it off, went to store and put the new one on in under an hour

Installation was as easy as removal with the exception of installation of the new ground pigtail it took a few more minutes just to cut and splice in the new wire.
