If you co to YouTube for advice on this project (and you should) like I did, it's a help for doing so. HOWEVER, be sure to disconnect the heater core hoses before you do anything else first. The heater core hoses are a proprietary Ford made QUICK CONNECT. It's quick connect for connecting to the heater core stub outs on the engine side of the firewall, but they're surely NOT QUICK DISCONNECT. A tool can be bought to free the hoses. I used my finger tips and in do doing made them bloody. I had to first remove the oil filler tube to get access. The blend door part was a perfect fit, once I cut away the plastic air duct for the floor heat/cool air. The heater core cover would not go back into place on my 1998 Ford E150 van without destroying the floor air duct. No big deal, just stuff a rag into the remaining end of the cutaway and you'll get twice the floor air at the driver's feet. One more thing, it's not a 3 hour job, like said on a YouTube video. I'm 81, and an experienced DIY mechanic with tools galore. Yet took me about 12 hours over two days to finish the job, and three days to recover. You'd better be agile, have good vision, and be able to see well in places where illumination is near impossible.
