If you own a Z71 2002 Chevy suburban, aftermarket is your only option. The dealer doesn't sell flex fuel pumps for these SUV's anymore. This one fit perfect and works great. Comes with a seal.

I bought this pump for my 03 Escalade ESV. This pump top and body is physically offset as opposed to the original one that is all in line. The float is also 180 degrees off from the original, so it looks entirely different when you compare the two. The part fit ok, but it wouldn't work when I installed it. After taking it back out and probing all the original pump connector terminals and this one, I found the 4 prong connector terminals were not in the same location as the original, even though it plugged right in. This took long enough to figure out because the paper with it said it was a plug and play, direct replacement of the original, which was not true. It also said it did not require a new harness, and I checked the new harness, which would have been wired the same way as the original, so it wouldn't have helped anyways. In order for me to change this pump, I cut a hole I my floor. If I would have dropped the tank, put the pump in, and then found out I had to drop the tank again because the terminals were not in the same position, I would have been really ticked off. It was a cold 5F in my garage and my vehicle's lines are not brand new, so I can imagine all the extra trouble I would have gone through taking the tank in and out a few times. All in all, the pump has been in for a few days, and when wired correctly, it works fine, for now. We'll have to see if the sending unit works correctly, since I haven't driven it much to know if the gauge is changing. But junk quality control I wouldn't have expected from ACDelco. Would not recommend, just get a dealer part, but then again, maybe that would still have the same issue. It's getting hard to find real good parts anymore.....

The first pump I received was an AC Delco unit. The pump was defective. I went back to the store where I purchased it, which is also one of the distribution centers for the area. Because I had to purchase it online to receive a 20% discount and my $20 speed perks, the exchange process was very difficult and time consuming. In addition, no stores within 40 miles had another. I had to go with a Delphi pump. After 20 minutes, I was able to take the 2nd pump to my mechanic. An hour later he called to state that pump was defective as well. He checked everything on my truck leading up to it and confirmed the 2nd pump was defective. I returned to the store and was met with some resistance and frankly, intense questioning about my mechanics competency as the clerk could not believe 2 pumps could be bad. It took several minutes of me defending my mechanic and his testing of the pump and my truck before he was willing to exchange it. Again, the process was time consuming and laborious. In addition, once again no one within 40 miles had another Delphi pump. This is for an 02 Chevy Avalanche. The pump is the same for Tahoes and Suburbans. With so many of all these on the road, I'm surprised at the lack of inventory. I had to move down from the Premium pump to the standard Carquest pump. After another 20 minutes I was on my way. I had to pay my mechanic extra due to the fact that he installed 3 not just 1 pump. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing parts like this from Advance in the future without some assurance that this situation will not repeat. I was VERY disappointed in the product, service and part availability.

GM discontinued the MU1379 part that this is supposed to replace. My GM dealer installed the Delphi FG0811. The first one had a bad fuel level sender. The second had multiple issues, including the fuel composition sensor level high code set in the pcm. The truck would start very rough and would not run for long with code P0300 for multiple cylinder misfire.

Did not work . Had to purchase a Delphi which worked fine. Had to pay to reinstall which almost doubled my cost. Advance was nice enough to give me a good gift card to offset the extra labor fee. I also had a bad fuel pressure regulator in with the same purchases . I really like Advance Auto but I understand the issue with quality control with so many vendors .
