I purchased 2 of these hood Lift Cylinders from my local Advance Auto Parts for about $75 3 years ago. The items had a life time warranty and as i remember were entered into the stores computer data base. They have failed so i removed them today and returned them to the same store. It seems Advance only keeps its data for 2 years and I was told for the lifetime warranty to be effective I needed the receipt. Who keeps a receipt for 3 years? It is the brand Advance sells, no else sells it, it is on their shelf, and I got shafted. Advance will not get any more of my money even though they are closer to my home than any other auto parts store.
