      My mechanic had me idle the car and rev it up to high RPMs. At one point around 2000 RPM, the sound changed where it didn't sound good. He said I needed a knock sensor. After replacing with a new one, my car sounded great as the RPMs increased. It was a steady sound, just faster as the RPMs increased.
