Note: The dust shield protecting the bearing has been upgraded from the original design. Choosing The Correct Replacement Part: Both the original equipment and Litens aftermarket tensioner use a round spring versus a flat spring and are marked "Made in Canada". This tensioner is supplied with a new OE style mounting bolt.

This specific Dayco Automatic Belt Tensioner is manufactured with a specially coated patented flat wire spring to allow the internal tension to be concentric, thus providing a more even degree of constant tension. The heavy duty cast aluminum spring case resists cracking and fatigue. Each component is built to resist rust, endure the toughest of conditions while promoting quieter performance and longer life. This tensioner contains a metallic locator pin built to withstand extreme drive demands and properly locate the tensioner for installation. Another specially patented feature is the Deflected Arm Plate, which dampens arm movement, prolonging the life of the tensioner by limiting the amount of rotational movement. I thought it was the pully but after replacing the pully only the chirping came back. It was the tensioner body halves metal on metal rubbing and chirping as the two metal parts wore and came in contact. It was easy to replace, remove the belt, take wheel off, remove bottom tensioner bolt from underside 10mm wrench and the top bolts from the top.
