  Description

  All kits consist of matched ACCEL custom fit wire set, ACCEL distributor cap and rotor and get the ACCEL U-Groove spark plugs, free. Kits include 8mm custom fit extreme 9000 wire set with heat reflective coat sparkplug boots rated at 1200 degrees Fahrenheit, and ferro-spiral core. Some in-line 6 cylinder applications use 5000 series wire set where extreme heat is not a problem. ACCEL uses the finest distributor cap and rotors available, precision molded in impact resistance high dielectric strength compounds. Most applications in tan with brass or copper inserts and stainless steel contact springs. Renowned, race-proven U-groove copper core spark plugs are used to maximize burn efficiency for improved performance and reduced emissions. Kits are designated with the suffix HP are available with ACCEL Shorty header spark plugs for added plug clearance on vehicles equipped with headers.

    Kit was good, but distributor Cap FAILED in under 2 months

    Needed a tune-up for my 1999 GMC K1500 Suburban. Instead of purchasing individual parts, I decided to give this kit a try. The spark plug wires are great. Heavy duty 8mm with ceramic plug ends. The primary problem I have with this kit is the distributor cap FAILED in less than 3 months. The cap began arcing on #3 cylinder (found out after the engine died while 40 miles from home, $200 tow, and hours of troubleshooting). Tried to get an exchange of the distributor cap at my local Advance store, but was informed I would have to exchange the entire kit. So to replace a failed distributor cap, I would need to pull all the plugs, wires, and rotor. Not what I was expecting when I purchased the kit online. I will think twice, perhaps 3 times before making such a purchase again. Bottom line, to get back up and running, I spent another $40 on a distributor cap in order to get my truck up and running.

    It's nice to have all the needed items in one kit. One thing we needed to do for my application (99 Chevy Tahoe 5.7) was to check the spark plug gap. GM updated the gap to reduce pre-ignition. Other than that - piece of cake!
