It fit just like the OEM part. I would have preferred buying a single retainer instead of a package of six of which only two fit my application.
Absolutely necessary when replacing the brake switch. The original retaining clip gets mangled upon removal. These fit like OEM. Make sure you cross reference fitment for your vehicle.

I bought these as a precaution because most people that replace the brake light switch on the late 90s GM trucks say get the clip off any way you can. Mine actually came off pretty easily. It was the press on metal one. The others were just gravy for future needs. Oddly, they do not have this in the help section but behind the counter in the "Hard to find" parts section. I'm guessing folks were coming in, ripping the package open and stealing just the one. They are cheap enough to just buy the whole set and have them on hand! When using these, they may seem VERY tight. You can take a pair of needle noise pliers and expand it a bit to get it a bit easier to get back on.

Fixed the problem of brake lights not illuminating when i stepped on the brake pad.
This is the second time having to replace this switch. once every five years, I think I can live with that.
