Car ran fine until I found the TPS loose. I pulled it off to check it out. Looked ok so I put it back on. Engine light came on and shifting started to mess up. Spent a lot of time looking at various websites and none of them mentioned that the TPS fit my specific vehicle with an automatic. Advanced auto parts did. I have a 2002 Ford Focus ZTW with an automatic. I put on this TPS called out for my car. Now it shifts ok at low speeds but wont shift into higher gears. The Ford parts guy said that my VIN # showed there was a change to the TPS and you had to buy a complete $400 throttle body. Guess he was right. Dissapointed that the buyers did not know that there was a change in 2002 and sell this as the correct part. I am not a professional mechanic and my diagnostics might not be correct. I did test the old TPS and the resistance didnt change when the TPS was moved. So I determined it was bad. New part didn't fix problem. Buyer beware that this may or may not work depending on your Focus. Check out Fordfocus fanatics website and there are similar story.
