Ive had good luck with Fel Pro in the past, but this kit is just a *tiny* bit oversized. If you use some dabs of RTV and a couple of blocks of wood to allow the gasket to seal to the timing cover prior to putting it on, it will be your best bet. On other applications, the timing cover gaskets lay into the cover perfectly, on this one they need to be massaged and pressed and are still a smidge too large. It will work, but you need to ensure a proper fit.

Does not come with new o-ring for cam shaft sensor driver/oil pum shaft
By Stephen M
I bought this gasket set for the oil pump seal only, and it did not work. The seal was too thin to fill the groove machined into the oil pump/oil filter housing on my 2004 Freestar 4.2 V6. I returned the set undamaged to Advance - no problems - no hassles. I had to purchase a $60 seal from Ford. The Ford seal was better, but I still used a bead of high temperature Permatex to hold the seal in place and minimize the chance of a leak. The pump housing is a bear to access, but do-able in the driveway. The seal may work for other 4.2's, but not mine.
Bottom Line not recommended
