      I brought the 1st alternator(online purchase) said it was for my vehicle but turns out it wasn't. Went into the store and exchanged it and got the correct one. Mechanic Put it on and it was a faulty alternator. So now I had to pay him to take it off and put another one one. So a lot of time and money wasted.

      1995 DODGE RAM 1500 (5.2L V8 Magnum engine). Had low voltage problem (12V) with the alternator (after wasting time swapping Battery, shining up Terminals, swapping Fuses & Relays). Nothing worked. Until I put on this RE-MANUFACTURED alternator from Advance. $96 + $25 Core (the cheapest in-stock alternator local store had). 1 YR. WARRANTY. Luckily, auto repair shop I've taken several vehicles to swapped the Pulley from the old the new one for me (reached for my wallet, but owner wouldn't even accept money). Good deal. 🙂 Puts out 14.2V now!

      Bought and took to shop to install. Shop called to tell me first one had a bad bearing. I went and picked it up and took it back to Advance for an exchange. Paid the shop $142 to install it and within 1 week, the bearing on the 2nd one is making a horrible racket and bad too. Honestly, the company should swap out the part and give a full refund because of the money they caused us to waste in labor. We will now have to pay all over again for the shop to swap out the replacement (which will now be the 3rd one). Will the 3rd be back out of the box as well? AVOID ADVANCE CARQUEST REMAN ALTERNATORS!!!

      Alternator was identical to OEM as far as connections, bracket, but the pulley was 3/8" bigger than OEM, but with a struggle I got the serpentine belt on with a little muscle. Satisfied. Good purchase.

      Purchased this alternator to replace one that was making noise. Took it out of the box gave it a spin and it seemed to bind up in spots. Was in a pinch and had to install the new one. See what happens. Do your self a favor and maybe go for the more expensive option.
