I went with Advanced Auto (vs. AutoZone) for the Online order which included $25.credit offer on my over $200. purchase. Lost that when I had to exchange product at store and NO WAY to use my Paypal in store vs.online. Should be able to do exchanges on same creditcard. Followed input info to order online but still got wrong product. Wasted mechanic's time doing exchange. Messed up my day twice. I do have to say the store clerk was very helpful & very fast with multiple crazy customers.

As with any non origina equipment have to do little cutting and matching pipes and fair amount welding. I also added 3 sensors into exhaust then erased PO420 code and after 100 miles check engine light still off. It seems be doing its job.

The converter is nicely made, it welded in very well and was a good fit. It cleared my code for down steam 02 sensor. I can't say anything but good about it but need to see how long it lasts for a solid opinion. Magnaflow offers a heavy metal version that has better catalyst that may be a better choice for longevity. I did not know this before I bought and installed mine.

It comes with all gaskets needed to replace it. It fits up with no issues. The trick to getting off the manifold nuts is to heat them up cherry red and use an impact wrench, no problems after that. I would recommend buying a new nuts though.

A HUNK OF SLAG [*] UP THE O2 SENSER SO I HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE AND BUY A GRINDING CONE TO CLEAR IT OUT. POOR MANUFACTURING!

The only issue i had was it has 4 02 sensor ports and my 98 has 3 o2 sensors so you will need an 18mm plug/bolt but other than that it seems well made with good clean welds it is brand new as I write this so we'll see how it holds up to the harsh winters here in the north east.

Well made and good fit. I had to get the gaskets from another store branch. It would be nice if they came as a set.

Purchased this in Sept. of 2013. Now only 42 months later one of the converters became very noisy due to broken internal parts. Original equipment Cat lasted 13 years. This brand only 42 months. Will never ever buy a MagnaFlow brand again! Trust me!

Replacing an y-pipe is not on top of my list of things to do. All the nuts came off (with a little heat) easily and the new y-pipe went on some what smooth. Just a few push and pulls also a little bang here and there. It was nice that it was a 2 piece y-pipe. The y-pipe did how ever came up a little short so we had to put pressure on the tail pipe to make up about 1 1/2 inch gap.

This is a good aftermarket cat that you will have to modify to fit your vehicle. This a universal cat that is determined to be an exact fit based on the engine you have in your vehicle and it's displacement. Exhaust flow rates will be different from a 4 to a 10 cylinder which means that all parts of an exhaust system have to be sized to meet a minimum flow rate to allow the exhaust gases to pass through without causing restrictions and hurting power and gas mileage.

[...] One of the flair pipe endings had a good dent in it that I had to tap out with a hammer. Like the other post, the front mounting flange (pipe to exhaust manifold) did not fit, I had to use a dremel tool with a carbide bit to grind out each of the 3 bolt holes on both flanges. Took an extra hour of grinding / fitting / grinding / fitting..

Its exhaust flanges are a bit thin. Comes very close to transmission case on bottom , within 3/4 inch on the 5 spd. DONT have it shipped because between the UPS plastic stick on labels and paper labels your scraping off it for 30 mins. It was covered in them , even on the heat shield. Not to mention the dents in heat shield from people who don't take pride in what they do, maybe dented either from shipping or AA handling. This item gets hot and having plastic and paper labels isn't smart at all. You figure auto parts places would understand this but nope. It really looks like just a universal converter with pipes added! Would not order another one and just swap out converters for next vehicles. Would use a good quality universal converter not the one listed on AA. If it wasn't for the huge discount I would never bought and just welded another instead of direct fit! Just very cheaply made. Only time will tell if it holds up. Make sure to check manifolds haven't degenerated around studs that secure the exhaust gasket donut and flange. Item was for 1997 c1500 std cab with 4.3l 5spd.
