My timing chain broke ,so my husband naught this for the replacement, had everything to fix it except the timing chain cover ,which is sold separate but they didn't even have the cover at all for me to purchase, but this (SO FAR), has worked just fine, car is running again, and I hope the parts are of good value and last a while. 2001 Chevy S10 2.2 Did more harm than good. I replaced the timing with this product during scheduled millage maintenance. The Tenssioner is supposed to set when it is met with 200ish degree oil from the engine. So the timing will not sound perfect until your vehicle is warm. When I opened the timing cover investigating a noise. The tensioner had snapped providing no tension. This caused one of the timing gears to grind away leaving metal shavings in my oil. Original manufactured parts have been working perfect, well worth the more money effort to acquire them. Major quality difference, do not use aftermarket timing parts on an S10.

My daughter is thrilled with the new gears and chain. The S10 is a '96 and is running quieter and smoother. She said "It's like driving a car from this century!" My mechanic reports that we were probably changing out from the original chain, gears, and tensioner - the tensioner fell into five pieces when they opened up the case, so maybe we should've made the swap sooner than the 170,000 we waited for.
