    Went to purchase a remanufactured engine. Sales clerk called Spartan motors and verified engine was in stock and available for delivery within 5-7 business days. I then purchased the engine and called Advanced Auto parts 7 days later to inquire about the status. They notified me that the engine invoice had not been completed. Spartan engine was not aware of the purchase of the engine. And no engines were in stock meaning I would have to wait an additional 3 months. Called corporate customer service and was blamed that I didn't present a VIN and mileage from my existing vehicle/engine and that was the reason the service order didn't go through. Will never go through them again.

    Bottom Line not recommended

    I went to Advanced Auto Parts to purchase a remanufactured engine, that my wife had called about. I wanted to verify the engine was indeed in stock through 3rd party Spartan. Upon arrival at the store I had the sales person call and validate the warranty information and whether the engine was still in stock. (Same day). Sales person verified with Spartan while I was in the store, and so I made the purchase. Expected delivery was 5-7 days. I called day 7 to inquire about the delivery and was told Spartan was not aware of the purchase and therefore it was not going to be delivered. I provided my sales receipt for the purchase and was told to talk to corporate. Corporate blamed the incident on no mileage/Vin being provided at time of sale as to the reason the order never being fulfilled. They said it would now be 2-3 months for the remanufactured engine. Overall horrible experience. I am just going to cancel the sale and will never use them again.
