Picked this up as a quick and easy replacement for a crumbling and leaking OEM pump. I bought bullnose connectors to avoid the splice connectors. With those, they fit into the OEM connector like a glove. The pump will just pull straight up out of the grommet. I suggest a broad bladed flathead screwdriver to aid the process. The supplied grommet is not a good fit and I found the original to be in good shape. I cleaned it and applied silicone grease for a tight seal. I also used silicone grease for the fitting into the tube to the washer nozzle. It can be done with the tank in place, but I would recommend to remove it for easier access and better visibility. Remove the passenger side nut completely, but just loosen the driver side nut to provide enough room to slip the metal bracket out Make sure you look onto the OEM pump for the right polarity, or use your 12V tester to get it right.

I used this pump to replace the faulty pump in my 1998 BMW 540I. It was definitely inexpensive. First thing I noticed was how loud it was after installation. It's functionally fine though. I did solder the wiring into the main harness without cutting the OEM connector off. I hate scotchlock type connectors, especially when they are exposed to road spray or water. The fact that it isn't plug and play makes it a little more difficult to install but it's tolerable for the convenience of getting it locally. Cover any exposed connections/wiring with dielectric grease.
