I purchased the TPS because of trouble shooting the part on vehicle was bad? I needed a Mixture control solenoid too. I could not find part online. I asked the sales persons to help me to find it when I went to pick up parts I had ordered. They were limited in our search due to Advanced Auto Parts limiting there access to parts break down of Carburetor. The competitor parts store found the part. It was obsolete. I have not had weather nice enough to install new TPS. I did find the Mixture Control Solenoid on Rock Auto Parts site. They had a illustrated parts break down with part.

This throttle position sensor worked fine on my 85 Impala with an e4me quadrajet. I couldn't get the sensor to read the (.48) volts that's needed at idle until I started the car. To test this tps you need a voltmeter, connect the red lead from voltmeter to the (A) terminal on the tps then the black lead to ground. The tps input should be receiving 5.00 volts at all times except when the car is off. Then test the tps output voltage, red lead from voltmeter goes to the (B) terminal on tps, black lead from voltmeter goes to either (C) terminal on tps or ground on body, it comes with a voltage sheet that specifies what voltage for your make and model. Adjustment screw is behind accelerator pump arm and is a 2.5 mm socket. All of these tests should be done with the car off but the key turned to run.
