I need to exchange for another one. My old sender was busted during an engine swap, so I bought this as a replacement. It has been reading as overheating, but I had it checked with an IR temp-gun and when the gauge reads 240, the actual is 183; I have a 180 stat. Hopefully this is an isolated defective unit and a swap will take care of it. It goes to 260 on hot days after climbing hills, so I assume it's only going to 203 when that happens. At least I hope! Mine is for an 89 Camaro 5.7L.

It came broken. The store would not replace it with a non defective one. I understand electrical can't be returned but, there is a way for a common costumer to test the product before leaving. Even then, do they expect every customer to have to test products before walking out? No.
