It was late in the afternoon, when I realized a new set of shoes were needed. These were well priced, and for good reason. To be fair, I didn't check the shoes in the store. Anyway, the friction material was very poorly aligned, and not fit to the shoes. Had to chisel 2 inches off to match what should have came in the box. Also 2 brake pins were missing, got the empty bag though. This all comes down to quality control at the factory, or the lack of. I get the feeling these parts are bought for as little as possible, for the most profit(this can be seen in most stores now). Needed them right then, so I had to make it work. Of course my local store is fantastic, with a great bunch of people in it. Just from time to time, the parts are pure junk. No matter the brand or price too. I rarely buy much from the big box parts places, for this very reason. Often find NOS stuff online.
1990 Dodge W150 4wd 9.25 rear: my previous rear brake shoes cracked and chipped near the top, probably from heat. Shoes were actually sticking to the inside of drum, such that I had to break them loose when I first shifted the truck to drive. Rain made problem worse. I direct routed the front brake line off the master cylinder to the front axle, also went with ceramic front pads, to get more front brake power. I replaced the rear shoes as part of overall brake upgrade and to protect my drums. So far, no evidence of heat or stuck rear brakes when I first move the truck. Be sure to handle these new shoes with gloves. The material can give splinters.

Rear brake drums look and work excellent! Very high quality and for a 32 year old vehicle to boot! Great part!
Works on my chrysler fifth ave classic

Price was decent, have yet to drive on them, however, due to the hole for the self adjuster anchor pic being drilled or punched to large, this project goes on yet another day. Major inconvenience to make yet another trip back to the store 10 miles away. hopefully they have a set in stock with a good shoe. I usually use Wagner or Bendix, but not in stock at time of purchase. Local stores service is pretty darn good so I don't anticipate any issues.
