WARNING.....WARNING.....WARNING When will Advance update their listing? This bearing (and seal) fits the Ford 8.8 rear ONLY WITH A 31 SPLINE AXLE. For 28 spline axles use the one listed for them7.5 rear. WHY DOES ADVANCE NOT FIX THIS. I have seen MANY reviews where others pointed this out yet ADVANCE has not fixed the listing. The correct listing would have saved me a days work of running back and forth.

Bearing would have worked but as others have mentioned because it sticks out of the differential housing it does not allow the axle to go into the carrier far enough to put the c-clip back on the axle. I was installing on a 2010 Mustang GT with posi rear. There is an S shaped Spring/clip that holds the spider gears in place, because of the S spring there is no way to get the c-clip back on the axle. I am certain the bearing was all the way in and we cleaned the back of the axle with a wire brush. The c-clip will go on about half way then get stuck on the S Spring. Ended up replacing the axles and using FRP bearings. We could have forced the c-clip on the axle but if we did that there would have been no way to ever get the c-clips back off should the rear ever require service again. Check your carrier before you buy these, if you don't have the S Sping holding your spider gears it will work.

It's been 40 miles, of course it works. Not happy how one box says Made In USA and the other box says Made In China, which is it? Is it the same as the Driveworks $10 bearing, it looks like it. Also not happy how parts like this that are usually replaced in pairs but every store within 50 miles only stocks one. About the bearing and reading other reviews, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! WHEN PROPERLY INSTALLED THERE IS APPROX 1/4 INCH OF THE BEARING STICKING OUT OF THE HOUSING.

I put this in my F150 and drove a total of 12 mile when it completely fell apart. I will be lucky if I can get my axle polished well enough for the seal to work now, otherwise I will have to get a new axle because of this junk bearing. DO NOT BUY THIS BEARING. spend the extra money on a good bearing.

Installed this repair axle bearing on a 2003 Ford Ranger 2WD 4cyl 2.3L engine. - rear whee l- drivers side No. 1 - Like another reviewer said, the end of the axle repair bearing will stick out past the end of the axle tube/housing a full 1/4". This is not a problem. Don't keep trying to bang it in flush with the axle tube. It won't go. There's an inner lip that stops it from going any further. It will stick out a 1/4". It's not gonna cause a problem. No. 2 - Two reviewers said that after installing this bearing they were not able to push the axle in far enough to get the retainer C clip back on inside the differential. I came upon this problem at first also. Solution is-- I took my cheapo Harbor Freight 4 lb mallet and gently tapped the end of the axle in towards the diff until I was able to get the C clip on. Simple as that. You won't be able to push the axle in by hand as the outer seal is there, but you can tap the axle in past the outer seal a bit to get the C clip on. Just tap a little at a time and keep checking to see if the C clip will just go on. Don't tap it in to far and take a chance on messing up the outer seal on the bearing. It can be done. I did it. Once the C clip is back on the axle will be moved back the other way into exact proper position when the center spacer rod is set back into position. You'll need a heavy slide hammer to yank out the old bearing and seal. Just yank em both out together at the same time. And you'll need a heavy mallet to get the bearing banged in (Harbor Freight/China Express). Also, you don't necessarily need to take the drum brake assembly off but it does allow you to see what's going on better.
Bottom Line recommended
Once installed you can't slide the axle shaft far enough to put the c clip back in. This product is useless.
