I installed it on my 97 Toyota 4Runner and I added transmission filter. Make sure you purchase extra 3/8" hoses before you install the cooler. Also I wanted to mention that the product is made by Hayden Automotive and manufacturered in Australia not China.

The way I use this product probably is different than the most common usage. The little radiator is well constructed, packaging is nice which means that it is in perfect condition when you take it out of the box. I do not use the attaching parts, but they are of good quality. I have put several of these radiator to the same purpose and they have all survived well. GOOD STUFF.

Bought these before for my vehicles. Put this one on a Silhouette and by-passed the in-radiator cooler altogether. Haven't put a thermometer on it to check temperature drop, but transmission is running smooth in 96 degree temps. Pair it up with an in-line transmission filter for a clean cool combo. Heat and slamming an automatic into reverse at 30 mph are the main destroyers of automatic transmissions. This will take of one of those problems.

i have installed trans coolers on my previous chev cargovan and transmission and was still going with over 500000 miles when i sold it .. my present gmc van has 407000 miles and still going - no trans problems / both gas engines . transmission coolers r cool they reduce heat n wear n the benefit is no high cost repair or nightmarish breakdowns .. highly recommend an oversized unit and you will be glad ...

Pulling my 8x16' dump trailer the tranny would get awfully warm in my 2500hd. The stock cooler was tiny. Replaced it with this cooler and new filter and oil. Now the tranny doesn't even heat up. Complete kit too.

The unit is very nice but I wish it came with mounting brackets that would mount like the orginal unit. It is also smaller than the one it replaces and you have to cut your transmission lines If you following the directions provided. I would recommend it still.

I replaced the OEM power steering (cooling, return) lines on my 2006 Impala SS (5.3L) with new hoses/clamps/transmission cooler and added a filter. The power steering at first did not work well--- until I revved the engine to 2,000+ RPMs. Bled the lines again, went to the car wash and spray washed the engine compartment and undercarriage to remove all remnants of power steering fluid that had leaked around the serpentine belt (before upgrading the system) *said a prayer to God... and then drove it at various speeds for about 20 minutes. The system then started working as it should!! This was a good fix (and an improvement) for a ruptured power steering return line with leaky hoses) and appears to be working better than the factory design. On this 2006 impala SS I had to locate the transmission cooler behind the bottom grill and in front of the radiator. The bottom grill has 15 clips that must be gently pried from the edges to remove, (snap out). I used 2 twist ties to attach the transmission cooler to the center support for the hood release. (after I added the supplied foam stick on pads to the hood release mechanism, so the metal to metal friction would be minimized). I also added a foam pipe insulator to the bottom of the transmission cooler to give it more support and to help alleviate vibration. * The most important part of the project 🙂

I installed cooler myself, wasn't so easy on 2010 Ford Fusion. Transmission cooling line fittings definitely not exact fit. I ordered fitting online. All said and done, satisfied with cooler.

Looks to be a good system, but haven't installed yet because the fins are all busted up. AA shipped it destroyed and I'm not too sure if its worth installing now.
