This set was a 9.25 Chrysler with a 4.11 ratio, Advance Part No 36020. In my rush to have them delivered before the weekend using the 25% off code I misread the brand name for an actual USA made product but took the chance and installed anyway. The new Spicer pinion yolk fit great on my old OEM pinion but this new pinion had splines so badly cut it would not fit. Much hand work with a file to deburr was needed before it would fit properly. Pinion depth marked on the pinion was not correct and wasted much of my time searching for correct depth. These gears are also not lapped and basically look to be right off the machine with no extra time as machine marks can be seen in the cut. Due these problems I opened the case after approx 400 miles fearing I would need to throw them away and as expected see quite a large amount of metal material from these "cheap" gears wearing in. The backlash has only opened .001" but the contact patches have moved placing excessive stress on the outer edges of pinion teeth not shown on initial setup. Bottom line I am leaving them in for now but will be keeping an eye on them. If I get the same wear in the next 400 miles as the first they will be garbage but if this first major wear in was due to not being properly lapped they may be marginally fine for the long run. Only time will tell and much wasted time and effort routinely checking in on them.
