Having had my oil changes performed by dealership and local quicklube shops, I decided to do my own. I purchased my oil and filter on line and the drain plug popped up as recommended buy. I ignored it. Well when I finally got the oil drain plug off, I quickly discover the threads was stripped. How many technicians noticed this and didn't say anything. Lesson learned, another trip back to Advance Auto, I bought two oil drain plugs and vowed to change my own oil here forward.

The only downside that is a 16mm and not 17mm. Works fine and yes I wouldn't use the plastic washer it comes with. Just use a standard crush washer and you'll be fine. Installed on a 2008 TL type S.

Only use the aluminum crush washer made for Honda drain plugs. I just changed the oil on my CR-V. I used the plastic washer previously and I removed the drain plug with my fingers!

I have installed this on my 2013 dodge Durango. Then you drain the oil it's a sprinkler how stupid, dormant can do way better than this

Got this the other day to maybe make my oil changes a but easier. The next day it was leaking. So I tightened it a little bit more. Then the day it wasn't. Not it's leaking again. Just goes to show the more complicated something is the more points of failure it has. I would recommend switching to a Fumoto oil valve if you still want a easier oil change. But il just gonna go back to a regular plug. Do not buy this product.

There is no proper way to tighten this drain plug. So it leaked ever so slightly from threads, even with yellow PTFE Teflon tape. Was tired of black spots on driveway, changed out dorman drain plug after 3000 miles for new OEM kia drain plug. On my 2nd Gen kia soul, the drain plug hole is inset about 1/8th of an inch and no wrench fits to get a good turn on dorman plug.. Never leaked from drain end though, seemed well made, just not made for my specific SUV.
