Obtained a unit and it leaked oil from the front seal. Understand it is actually designed to leak some oil since the seal is ceramic, with no real amount considered acceptable / unacceptable. Got another compressor to find it actually slung oil more than the first one. Doubt new ones would be any better and all parts houses carry the same units. Learned to use the newer compressor double lipped seal which had good results. Just in so let's see how it goes.

I purchased this compressor to replace the A6 compressor in my 1969 Firebird 400. I wanted to keep the stock look and this compressor worked perfectly.
Bottom Line recommended
75 miles after installation, the front oil seal on this GM A6 compressor began slinging oil onto the underside of the hood and the fender. Bad remanufacturing job. Having to replace this defective compressor wasted 4 lbs of R12 which costs over $50 a can!
