If the Motorcraft FL-1A isn't available then this filter is a good replacement. Built using most of the same methods that make the FL-1A a good filter. Isn't quite as large as the FL-1A but will hold almost 1 quart of oil.

Seriously how do you grade oil filters nowadays? There's three tiers of expensiveness and none seem to make any difference whatsoever except for how much you pay. It goes in the trash every 3000 miles so why would you pay three times as much for something that alleges that it filters better?
Fits as expected.

I always bought mobile one oil filters due to there oil capacity and the flap inside the filter. I stopped. Buying mobile one oil filters and tried the boss filter and the quality and construction is the same if not better then mobile one filters and they are priced a little cheaper always a +. I own four cars and I only use the boss filter

Sadly this filter cross references with the Fram PH8A and similar filters. It is suppose to fit my 225cid 3.7L Slant Six on my 65 Valiant, but it doesn't -- The diameter of the threads is too large. I'm not really sure what car this filter would fit. I went back to the store, actually several in my area to talk to them about it, but they didn't understand it either. One guy went to grab a another one off the shelf to see if mine was wrongly packaged, but the one off the shelf was exactly the same. DO NOT BUY this filter unless you are willing to troubleshoot with it. I am very disappointed with this filter. Advance needs to fix their database, or their manufacturing department on why this filter cross references with other filter that DO fit, yet this filter DOES NOT fit. Won't be buying this filter again. Sadly I didn't take a picture of the difference before I returned the filter to the store.
