The starter was defective. It would turn, but the mechanism that engages the flywheel did not work. I tried to return it to a different Advanced Auto and was first accused of trying to return the starter that I removed from the truck, and was then told I needed to take it back to the store I purchased it from. The salesgirl was very rude and really seemed as though she was being 'put out' to have to take care of a customer. I've yet to return the item, and may just write off the cost as a learning experience to never shop at Advanced Auto again. There are a lot of auto parts places out there, and if that the way I'm going to be treated, I'll choose one other than Advanced Auto.
