Make sure you heed caution...just because you have a manual transmission classic Mustang...you'll need the automatic version of the starter. The automatic version has the long nose on it and allows the starter to engage the ring gear. The shorter nose *may* work, but it's only engaging part of the teeth on that ring gear.

I've owned my 1967 mustang for almost twenty years now and it has always struggled starting, I thought it was a fuel delivery issue or timing. It would turn over and start but it could be a long drawn out process. Replaced it and now it fires up instantly. Replacement was simple, two bolts and an electrical connection, took minutes.

Put this in as a replacement for my stock start when the bindex wouldn't engage and I needed to get the truck moved. Should have gotten the original rebuilt or bought a better quality starter. As stated by someone else this thing decides when it wants to work on its own. Has really poor cranking power, and I have brand new battery, starting solenoid, alternator and good clean connections, and when the starter gets warm it wont crank over the engine, so if you go into a store you better either leave it running or park on a hill so you can roll start the truck. If you stall in traffic you are screwed. 100% WOULD NOT RECCOMEND this starter.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Usually doesn't work when you stall out in traffic with a 7k pound trailer . Absolutely horrible, don't buy.
