The sway bar's function is just what the name suggests - it limits the amount of body lean in your vehicle as
you round a corner. Upgrading OEM sway bar bushings to a polymer or polyurethane part can greatly improve
control and suspension stiffness without compromising ride quality. Shop Advance Auto Parts for sway bar
bushings and parts from MOOG, Driveworks, ACDelco and more!
When you round a corner, inertia shifts the vehicle's weight in the direction that you're turning. That means
body lean, and the softer your vehicle's suspension is, the more lean you can expect to see. Sway bars (also
called anti-roll bars) are usually cylindrical steel bars that connect the two wheels and wind up like a
torsion spring when one wheel moves vertically independent of the other.
The sway bar is mounted on rubberized bushings that are invariably going to wear out with enough time and
exposure to the elements. An upgrade to polymer or polyurethane bushings can make a dramatic difference in
handling and steering response without sacrificing ride quality. Are you noticing an excessive amount of
body lean while cornering? Shop our selection of aftermarket sway bar bushings - you'll notice a difference
