Received a broken jack stand out of a sealed brand new box. Jack stand would not fully lock in any positions. Could of got seriously hurt.

I bought these jack stands to support my '05 Isuzu Ascender while I replaced the oil pressure sensor. I called around to local competitors, but Advanced had best price - SCORE! They are my first stands so I was relieved by the ease of assembly and for the most part straight forward instructions. I was uncertain about how to push in the safety tabs. It would have been nice to have a picture showing how to brace the stands and suggested tools. I decided on a socket extender and a hammer- stands supported by the styrofoam insert and floor. A few hits each did the trick. With stands in place, I felt safe and could focus on doing my job. I didn't consider when buying, but, the height gave me ample clearance under my vehicle. Also nice that I can store them in the original box. A feel good buy!

These are more than adequate for any home mechanics and you won't find them any cheaper. I used them under my '64 Land Rover to do some brake work and they worked just fine, and this is a long wheelbase LR which is pretty heavy. I checked the prices at several other retailers and big box stores and with my online coupon got these dirt cheap.

I like these stands. Every home garage should have a pair of these. Very strong. I use mine in conjunction with other jack stands for brake work, tire rotations, oil changes, etc. Haven't had any issues. Never let me down. Highly recommended.

I have a VW golf, and for MY car they are perfect, I read here a lot of bad review because the jack broke... Yes, if you try to use this item on a SUV is normal that cant handle the weight!!
