I purchased this to replace the left front hub assembly in my 2004 Pontiac Bonneville. I found the part easy to install; however, the bearing went bad only a month after install. I exchanged it for a National Hub Assembly. At the same time I did the exchange I went ahead and purchased a different brand for the right front. (SKF) I noticed the SKF brand was significantly better quality and the rear bearing seal was totally redesigned (the SKF came with a document explaining the redesign), some investigation into SKF revealed SKF is an engineering company not just a manufacturer. 2 Months later the National Hub Assembly has play in it while the SKF is like new. I think Advance should start selling the SKF brand.

Comments about Driveworks Wheel Hub Assembly:
Well first one I received the lug nut stubs were bent so I returned it. Second one I installed the ABS light stayed on and I tested the wheel hub. The wheel speed sensor didn't work. So I ended up removing it and buying a more expensive one Moog brand.

How can I tell if the berring in the hub is bad or not?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
When a Wheel Bearing or Hub Assembly is bad, it will usually make a noise. The noise can vary when you turn, and also with speed. This grinding noise indicates that your wheel bearings are bad, and you should replace them. Common noises are squeaks, chirps, squeals, moans, grinding, growling, whining, etc. This noise usually does not vary with braking. If you are experiencing noise while breaking or that varies with applied brake pressure, then you most likely need to replace your brakes. Another way, To check a wheel bearing, grasp the tire at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions and attempt to rock the tire (while the wheel is lifted off the ground). If you feel any play, the bearings are loose and need to be replaced. Also, rotate the tire by hand. Any roughness or noise from the bearings would also tell you the bearings are worn or damaged and need to be replaced. Also, If one wheel bearing is faulty, pay close attention to all of the other hubs on the vehicle, too, especially if the vehicle has a lot of miles on it. Chances are some of the other bearings may also need replacement.Q:

is this a hard part to change?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Normally this wheel hub assembly is built into the wheel hub and designed to be replaced as a single unit. This reduces the number of special tools you will need, because there is no need to pull or press the bearing. Expect to spend about half an hour replacing the wheel hub and bearing assembly which is moderately easy to replace.Q:
