With the added cost above the other detectors one would expect the technology to outperform the others. Side by side with a 16 year old detector, this one is nothing more than a pretty package. One misconception is the on/off radars can be picked up with these more expensive units when the radar is activated on someone in front of me. My older detector alerted me way before this unit did so I'll put it in the yard sale box and recover whatever cost I can and continue using my old faithful.

I have gotten a lot of breaks with it. It has identify unmarked police cars and at a far distance. I would recommend it.

Every time it has gone off I was looking at the Police car, it wasnt showing "Pop" mode either. I have yet had it go off before I have seen the officer. I think the range is POOR.. It does pick up everything and has a lot of false alarms but I leave it on the highway mode so I know it wii get everything..
