Waited for a few months after buying this to review it. I got the check engine light once after this was replaced but put premium gas in it for a tank and the light went back off. Probably not the converters fault but the 175,000 miles on the engines fault :) This worked perfectly fine.

              Comments about Walker Universal Converter:

The Walker converter is a very well made unit. I installed it on a 2000 Chevy S-10 4X4 with a 4.3L V-6. Installation required two reducers that I could only find at [@] for $17 each. Installation involved dropping the transmission support crossmember and detaching the engine pipes from the manifolds, removing the exhaust system up to the tailpipe, marking everything, cutting out the old converter, welding in the new cat and reducers and putting everything back together. While I was in there, I replaced the exhaust donuts at the manifolds. It was a considerable amount of work on an S-10, maybe not as bad with other vechicles. If I had it to do again, I would bite the bullet and replace the whole thing from the engine to the tailpipe and not do the cutting, marking, fitting and welding parts. Good luck.

With basic tools and a mig welder this converter was easy to install in my 2002 Blazer. I removed the exhaust Y pipe, took some measurements, cut out the old converter, trimmed the new converter to fit, welded it in place and reinstalled the exhaust Y pipe within 2 hours.

                  Comments about Walker Universal Converter:

Bought this converter last spring. The code to replace popped up about 4 months after putting it on the car. Had to get the OE style and now the car is happy. The converter had a very bad rattle to it and was shot. Put the direct fit on the car and it works like a charm. I have talked with several other people who put that Universal converter on their cars and had the same problem. For the amount of money you shouldn't have to replace it less than a year later.

The Walker Universal Converter (Part No. 93304) is identical on both the inlet and outlet. However you will have the direction printed on the top of the converter. So you will not have any difficulty in installing the catalytic converter. Well the catalytic converter can be replaced alone but if your trying to replace the entire exhaust system, depending on your vehicle, then you would also possibly need the tail pipe, muffler, exhaust gaskets (may be 3or more), resenator, exhaust manifold, y - pipe, etc.
