I needed some of this silicone for my rearend repair on my International dump truck. A bearing had gone out which caused me to have to pull it out and send it off to be repaired before it did anymore damage.
Putting it back in, I was told to use some silicone and put some around the housing which would seal off the rearend once it was bolted back up.
You would think a tube would do a lot but when you are needing a decent size bead to go around the housing, the stuff runs out pretty quick so luckily I had two tubes of this stuff.
Once I was finished, everything was sealed up and so far I have no leaks from my repair from where I used this stuff.
I've used this on our oil pans before and it also works great.

I've been using Permatex products since high school and that was 40 years ago without any issues or complaints. I've always been very impress with the performance of Permatex products and their Ultra Black® Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker is no different and did not disappoint. Excellent instant gasket maker for gear oil filler and drain plugs in manual transmissions.

It does what it says it will, my only issue is with the cap. I wish it had an additional cap that covered the tip of the application nozzle. For now I have to remove the nozzle, then cap it.
