My 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4.0L has a Trac-Lok limited slip rear differential. The service manual requires that 4oz of limited slip lubricant be added to the 75W-90 gear oil. This Trans-X® Posi-Trac® Limited Slip Gear Oil Additive meets the specifications for my Jeep. The pointed cap made it easy to inject into the differential through a 3-foot plastic tube.

This was a really good product for the price. It actually was such a good buy that I will use it as a preventative additive and for maintenance. I was not expecting it to work as well as it did, due to not knowing or hearing about it from anyone, except on the net. The product was not complicated, very easy to use and best of all inexpensive. This product did an outstanding job, which means I will not switch the whole rear end on the car I used it on. This saved me hundred of dollars if not more. I would recommend it to anyone before they decide to change their differential or rear end, like I was planning to.

I have a 72 Mustang Mach, I put in 389 richmond gears and a Auburn Posi in my 9"... it made lots of noise when doing slow turns.. sounds like a clicking or grinding... Added the TransX and the noise disappeared within 5 miles of driving...

My Tacoma with a Limited Slip Differential rear end was making noise and chattering in low speed parking lot type manuvering, like lock to lock turns and backing into or out of parking spaces. I put a tube of this in and it fixed it 100%. I love this stuff and it was cheap.

THIS WAS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. I HAD A SLIGHT CHATTER IN DIFF. WHICH IT SAID IT WOULD CURE. IT'S STILL THERE. JUST A BUNCH OF HYPE.

Yes, it is similar to a friction modifier. This K & W Chemical Trans-X® Posi-Trac® Limited Slip Gear Oil Additive with Part No. 402508 will significantly reduce the friction during break-in of differentials. High temperatures encountered in break-in can destroy the hardening of the gear teeth causing rapid wear of the softened gears.
