i have 95 ford e150 replaced a lot of parts such as fuel pump, fuel filter, sensors, tune up,and it still want start could this cause it not start or any suggestions1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes, the throttle position sensor may be the possible cause of the problem as it directly monitors the position of the throttle. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
does this sensor control how the engine idle1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
A throttle position sensor (TPS) is a sensor used to monitor the position of the throttle in an internal combustion engine. The sensor is usually located on the butterfly spindle so that it can directly monitor the position of the throttle valve butterfly. The sensor is usually a potentiometer, and therefore provides a variable resistance dependent upon the position of the butterfly valve (and hence throttle position). The sensor signal is used by the engine control unit (ECU) as an input to its control system. The ignition timing and fuel injection timing (and potentially other parameters) are altered depending upon the position of the throttle, and also depending on the rate of change of that position.Q:
I have a 1991 F150 with a 5.0 motor. Just died completely on me while driving it. Now when I start it it runs for about 1 second then dies immediately. Fuel pumps are working and am thinking it may be this sensor. Can this sensor cause this?1 answer
