Comments about BWD Throttle Position Sensor:
I used it in my 1999 LS1 trans am, the reason was cause I had a high idle after driving randomly.
The installation was easy like 1-2 mins max.
I have nothing negative about this product, it's a good brand, great product, great price and most all great warranty!

Comments about BWD Throttle Position Sensor:
Selected it for the price, and read prior reviews - but it works just fine in my 2001 Cavalier. 2 Torx screws install, didn't need to remove a lot of junk to get to it. You need to re-use screws from the vehicle, though, as it does not come with any replacements. I'd like to see two new screws included, in case you drop one or if one gets damaged. Sensor mounted quickly and in exact position, I did it in the parking lot at work. It took care of my transmission shifting problem (trac loc light was coming on intermittently).

Comments about BWD Throttle Position Sensor:
it did not cure my problem although several people even at Auto Zone said that what it was and I was too not I still puzzle by what my hesitation problem is when I drive and shut it off for 5-45 minutes and pull out it sputters and backfires through fuel intake for a little bit and them takes off after a few seconds It is really bad though if I am on a hill and it just idles I wonder if it si not something too do with the idle

Q:
Are fuel system adjustments required after installation of the throttle position sensor?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes, the throttle position sensor (TPS) needs to adjusted properly after installation as proper adjustment of the TPS is critical for engine performance, fuel economy, and emissions. An improperly adjusted TPS effects many other inputs and outputs from the ECU (Engine Control Unit), many of which would not even logically point to the TPS.Q:
I have a 96 Chevy 1500 2 wheel dive. Not sure if this part will fix my problem.Starts fine, idles fine. When im driving around town it runs fine, except early mornings. When it warms up and try to pass or pull anything up a hill. It baugs down. like it is choking to much. CUSTOMER CARE
A:
It might be the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
will this solve my shifting prolbems on my 96 jimmy ? it shifts hard then it doesnt have no passing gear1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The throttle position sensors could possibly be the problem. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis.Q:
what would be the symptoms if this part was bad as far as running my engine1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Symptoms of a malfunctioning Throttle Position Sensor (TPS): Bucking and jerking of the car, Idle surging of the car, Sudden stalling of the car engine, Hesitation while the driver of the car is trying to accelerate, sudden surge in car's speed while driving on the highway. Also due to faulty TPS: Engine Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) can be turned on, Driver of a car may experiences difficulty while changing gears, Fuel economy of the car drops drastically and can cause difficulty in setting base ignition-timing of the car.Q:
Someone recommended me the "Throttle Body Sensor" for my mini-van Chevy Venture 1998 which has speedy and acceleration problems when I start the enginee. Is this the Sensor needed to fix this problem?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes, this is the part that you are looking for and this BWD Throttle Position Sensor - Part No. EC3048P fits your 1998 Chevrolet Venture.Q:
where is this part at on this vehical1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The throttle position sensor (TPS) on most vehicles is located in the engine compartment. It is attached to the throttle body on the top of the engine.Q:
Will this part stop it from skipping1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
A throttle position sensor (TPS) is a sensor used to monitor the position of the throttle in an internal combustion engine. The sensor is usually located on the butterfly spindle so that it can directly monitor the position of the throttle valve butterfly. The sensor is usually a potentiometer, and therefore provides a variable resistance dependent upon the position of the butterfly valve (and hence throttle position). The sensor signal is used by the engine control unit (ECU) as an input to its control system. The ignition timing and fuel injection timing (and potentially other parameters) are altered depending upon the position of the throttle, and also depending on the rate of change of that position. For example, in fuel injected engines, in order to avoid stalling, extra fuel may be injected if the throttle is opened rapidly (mimicking the accelerator pump of carburetor systems).Q:
car starts then stalls out 2001 S10 could this sensor do that1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes, the throttle position sensor should be the problem in your 2001 S10. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:

I have an '03 Pontiac Grand Am GT (3.4L). Problems are hesitation under acceleration, lack of power (and bogs down under load), transmission inconsistent shifting, check eng. light on, & decreased fuel mileage. Have replaced EGR valve, ICM (misfires in #1 & 5 cylinders), has new plugs, wires, and pcv valve. What's the possibility of a bad TPS?2 answers
