Because of indicated higher water temperature readings on my guage, I replace the standard thermostat with a Superstat Thermostat by Stant, hoping to get better flow volume at a faster rate. I observed almost immediate results as indicated by a lower guage reading. Installation was simple in my case (1986 el Camino). REMEMBER TO BUY THE TERMOSTAT HOUSING GASKET as it does not come with the thermostat.

I have a GMC diesel truck that requires two thermostats, these are standard thermostats not high flow like the originals but they will fit. I'm not sure they will do the job when the hot weather comes in and towing a load. I plan on buying the delco high flow thermostats in the near future.

Comments about Stant Superstat Super Premium Thermostat, 195 Degrees Fahrenheit:
The part works great, fits nice and snug, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I put her in and she fired right up, no problems what so ever. I love "Advanced Auto Parts". And if you have to get parts from here, always order online. The amount of time and money I have saved is substantial. Not to mention the coupon codes to save more money and get rebates. Lol, i'll never go in person again, no point when you can get the parts pretty much half off through the website. On average i save about $65.00. Always oreder online.

my '99 ford ranger w/3.0 flex engine has the original thermostat. the problem is that in cold weather it takes a while to come to normal operating temp. and when it does, the temp. gauge shows a large variances from the normal operating temp. until it is held at highway speed for 20 to 30 min. then the gauge holds steady at normal operating temp.. will the superstat remedy this problem. thank you2 answers

why use a 170 thermo VS a 195 thermo? im replumbing all my cooling system and need to know which thermo to buy...1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Choosing which temperature of thermostat to go with depends on the climate of where you live. For just average weather, I would stick with whichever thermostat your vehicle originally came with. If the climate is alot colder than most it would be best to use a thermostat with a higher temperature thermostat and vice versa.Q:
What are the differences in the thermostats?2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Which two thermostats are you talking about ?A:
Yes this would be a good one, but I'd go with a lower alternative tempature honestly. As far as warranty... like they actually warranty thermostats anyways. It would help if the people that work for AAP actually answer the question asked and not just chime in about a warranty... that WASN'T Asked aboutQ:
