Monroe Strut-Mate mounting kits are direct fit replacements designed to complement the ride control characteristics of Monroe struts. In addition, our full line will provide you with late model original equipment coverage. When doing strut replacements, it is important to do the complete job. This means not only replacing the struts but also inspecting and replacing worn strut mounts. Remember, worn strut mounts can adversely affect a vehicle's safety and handling. Not only are strut mounts a necessary component of the suspension system, they consist of rubber to metal bonded parts that wear out over time as well. Worn bearings may also cause noise, steering binding, vibration and vehicle pull. Took two tries to get installed correctly - little complicated to figure-out how to assemble. In my defense it was at the end of a long day and late at night when I was installing.

Better instructions on assembly would be helpful. No instructions in box, and the instructions packed with the strut not very clear, either. Couldn't find a clear picture in service manual or on-line, either. Had to take off old strut to see: Tapered black ring goes right against metal mount, with arrows pointing at studs. Yellow bearing goes next, yellow side with little ridges lined up with small ridges in tapered black ring. Round spring mount goes next. Small metal cup goes on top; large metal cup goes on bottom. against the strut. Would be much simpler to buy a "Quick-Strut", but none is available for this vehicle.

Makes strut install a snap. So easy to install a fifth grader could do it. Included all the little hardware for a perfect install. I don't see how anyone with even minimal skills could mess up a instalation with this kit!

The strut mounts come with no instructions whatsoever. There are 4 different plastic pieces that make up the mount, plus two metal spacers. In my case, some of the plastic pieces were assembled together in the box in incorrect order. I ended up disassmbling my old mount to figure out how the new one is supposed to go. What a time waster. If you're a pro and have experience with this, then no issue, but if it's your first mount replacement, it's not so obvious.
