All I had to adjust was the idle mixture screws, about a half a turn each. 73 Mustang Mach 1 with 351w, mild cam, headers and electronic ignition. Went from an oversized double pumper to this model. Drivability is very noticeably increased and the car has never ran better. Pulls 15 inches at idle and I'm sure gas mileage will go up. This is a great carburetor!

just being honest..I would not recommend

installed on my 83' monte carlo ss at same time as an accel distributor with manual vaccuum advance, got rid of undesired extra wires to give engine cleaner looks and easier to work on. IT worked great for alittle over one year then the inside of one of the bowls metal dipping was flaking off!!!! stock car, 93 octane gas, wow, why did carb paint start flaking off inside bowl just after the warranty!!! so if your carb starts sounding like a waterpump bearing going out then it might be the carb's cheap dipping trying to clog the opening. good luck to all

Perfect fit on square bore performer manifold.
Initial RPM High idle at 1500 (re adjusted to 650 RPM, small fast idle adustment 1/4 bolt hidden behind electric choke.
Original carb was 4150- Replacement = 4160.
Great deal, save dollars by internet purchase.
No hesitation on start!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Makes my 1986 f-250 fun to drive again. Carbs was easy to install and the truck runs great,having the chrome look is a very nice touch. The weight has to be more than half of the last carb. Its so nice now to hit the gas once and have the truck start and stay running. Definitely worth the price.

Purchased this for my 1967 Ford Galaxie 500 fastback 390cu. I replaced another old holley that was on there. Once installed and started my RPM was 3000! Be sure to remove the little screw on the linkage they show you in the instructions for Ford applications. I did not think this screw mattered as it was not touching or connected to anything. But after removing it my idle speed went back down to 800 RPM. Buying this new carb for less than $300 was easier than rebuilding my old one.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
