Don't overlook the basics when it comes to engines new or old: Fuel, air, and spark.
1) Replace your plugs and wires as a set.
2) Look at your existing plug brand and part number and try to replace with the same.
The wrong size plug will prevent your engine from starting. (Brand new rebuilt engine with wrong plugs = crank and no start. Looked up factory plug specs and installed, started right up.)
3) Confirm the gap.
4) Anti-seize the threads before installing.
