Comments about Perfection Exhaust Rubber Insulator Block Hanger:
The old insulators needed to be replaced. The old ones were still working, but the new ones made the muffler hanger fit tighter and had less slop than the orginals.

Is this the part that goes on the frame to the converter? This is for a 1998 Ford Windstar. Thanks1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The muffler hangers should be located under the cabin, just past the catalytic converter and suspend the mufflers from the frame above. If the muffler hangers fail, the drive shaft could grind against the exhaust which would cause lots of odd drivetrain harmonics. This Rol Exhaust Rubber Insulator Block Hanger (Part# 511187) is designed to fit most vehicles, but is not an exact fit for 1998 Ford Windstar. Unfortunately, we do not see an exact muffler hanger for your 1998 Ford Windstar available online right now. However, if you could please visit your local Advance Auto Parts store, the representative there will be happy to assist you with this regard or you can contact us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) for further assistance.Q:

Specifically this part is made for Toyota applications. Toyota typically uses 12mm wire or tube (1/2" for aftermarket parts) It can be used in other applications based on the dimensions of the part to be replaced. The critical dimensions of this part are, Hole span: 1 3/8" between centers and the diameter of the holes: 12mm-1/2". It will work on smaller diameter wire brackets but may allow for too much movement. Just measure the part to be replaced and determine if this will work for your application.
